We know how much our residents and their families have missed each other, and we’re excited to announce the return of outdoor visitations to our community.

Is it safe to visit senior living communities in Front Royal, VA?

In April 2021, Governor Northam enacted a task force for long-term care facilities. The goal was to provide senior living communities with enough resources to combat the virus, empower staff, and boost testing capabilities. As a result, we now have the capabilities to resume an outdoor visitation schedule.

At Shenandoah, we will continue to follow CDC guidelines while we allow outdoor visitation, including:

  • Managing a visitation schedule
  • Visitor and vendor check-in with the front desk to assess for symptoms
  • Requiring face coverings for all

While COVID-19 cases are dropping across Virginia, it’s still an active concern in Front Royal, so let’s all try to be as safe as possible.

What is the CDC recommending these days?

I completed the COVID-19 vaccination process. Do I need to wear a mask?

When Governor Northam announced his executive order to ease mask restrictions following CDC guidelines, he reaffirmed, “Masks are a critical tool in protecting yourself and others until you are fully vaccinated.”

Despite being vaccinated, contracting the virus is still possible. Vaccines can lessen the severity of the virus but do not make you 100 percent immune. As we are a long-term care community, we house a population that is at higher risk to viruses in general. Therefore, keeping residents protected is our highest priority.

What did Shenandoah Senior Living do through the pandemic?

The incredible amount of mail, gifts, and goodies we received from all over the world brought a smile to our residents’ faces. The puzzles and art supplies kept us busy, and the encouraging words filled our hearts with joy. We would like to thank all the families that participated in the car parades and window visits.

Our residents can’t wait to see you, so let’s keep it safe and start having some fun. We agree with the statement issued by Warren County, “Virginia’s health is in your hands. Do your part in stopping the spread and remember to wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice social distancing.”
